Focus Areas

LGBTQ

In addition to coping with many common issues such as depression, anxiety, grief, stress, etc. LGBTQ people also have their own set of unique challenges and concerns. I have extensive experience helping LGBTQ individuals work through these challenges. I'm a passionate ally and have been approved as an affirming therapist by the LGBT Center of Raleigh HealthWorks Mental Health Team.

Trauma

Traumatic experiences are incredibly difficult to overcome alone. I've worked successfully with many patients using the most evidence based trauma treatments to help them overcome symptoms that result from traumatic experiences.

Addiction

Anyone suffering from a drug or alcohol addiction knows how powerful and crippling it can be. My experience and knowledge can provide the necessary support you need to be successful throughout the treatment recovery process.

Anxiety & Depression

I have come alongside many individuals looking to overcome anxiety and depression. Working with you, I can help you overcome your symptoms by developing a deeper awareness of what you feel, why you feel that way, what your triggers are, and how you might change your reaction to them.

Approaches

Mindfulness Based

Mindfulness-based therapy is an effective way to help you better understand and manage your thoughts and emotions in order to achieve relief from feelings of distress. I often use this approach in combination with other techniques.

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling (sometimes called psychotherapy, talk therapy, or treatment) is my prefered approach to counseling. It's a process through which I'll work one-on-one with you to maximize the support you need in order to experience growth.

Trauma Focused

Overcoming psychological trauma can be difficult. I specialize in helping people overcome the distress, pain, and dysfunction that comes from having lived through the most overwhelming and threatening experiences.
